Lean Training - People
Or what to do and when
Lean is only as good as the people that make it happen. It relies heavily on local teams to undertake the improvement activities in their work area. Involvement of those affected by the change ensures the gains can be sustained once they have been made. However, forming teams is not enough. They need to know what to do, how to do it and when to do it. In other words they need a process and tools to do the job.
Those local teams also need support. We have found teams are most successful when they are facilitated by an experienced lean coach who can guide them through the use of the techniques. Management must also play a role in providing the necessary support to allow the lean teams to prosper.
Training is a key element of helping people become lean, but initially they will also need a guide to provide coaching and support along the way. Through our consultancy we can develop the required in-house skills to ensure an organization reaches a position of self-sufficiency.
