Example 2: Six Sigma in E2V

‘Six Sigma’ is a project-based approach to improving processes and products in any organization. At E2V we trained numerous Black Belts and Green Belts and provided advice and applications support for the project teams. The Black Belts have subsequently been given training as trainers in order that they can proliferate the Six Sigma methodology. The Design for Six Sigma approach is now being applied to product development.

Typically, a project managed by a Black Belt will result in £100k - £200k bottom-line savings. There are normally about 5-6 Black Belts for every 1000 employees.
